Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the Bhagavad Gita to former US President Barack Obama during his maiden visit to USA. This year has been no exception. Leaders in US polictics elected to US Congress showed their deep appreciation by choosing to take the oath to office on the Bhagavad Gita. Leaders also gracefully accepted the gift of Bhagavad Gita from Motel Gita team on January 3, 2017 at the top diginitaries and media-filled ' Indiaspora' gala Event CongresswomanTulsi Gabbard lighted the first candle at the gala, followed by all other dignitaries. Amongst others, Ms.Pramila Jayapal took oath on Bhagavad Gita on January 3, 2017 as she became the first Indian American woman in US House of Representatives representing 7th district of Wahington.Congressman Mr. Raja Krishnamoorthi won the election from Illinois also took the oath on Gita. Motelgita's presence at the Indiaspora Gala served as a reminder of the values and guiding principles found in the Bhagavad-gita that are at the root of Indian-American culture and that have helped shape many of the leaders now in top positions in the U.S. government.
